8-hour Continuous Use of Dim3W Smart 3D Printing Pen Proves the Robustness at AMMF 2014

Austin, TX – May 07, 2014 – Dim3printing today presented its 3D printing pen pre-production Crowded people test 3D printing pen at AMMF 2014prototype at the Austin Mini Maker Faire 2014.  During the exhibition, more than 300 people, most of them are children and high school students, joined the stress testing – continuous use of the 3D printing pen for practice. At the event, Dim3printing showed six Dim3W Smart 3D printing pens and had them continuously operated from 9am to 5pm. Out of six pens tested, only one failed after five hours continuous operation. Having had fun with the 3D printing pen, children walked out of the test with self-made 3D wire gifts home using Dim3W Smart. “ We really appreciate the Austin Mini Maker Faire for this invaluable opportunity to get the field testing of our product done before production, “ said Mr. Bin Hu, the co-founder of Dim3printing LLC., “We are very proud of our engineering work as the pre-production prototype is proven to be considerably reliable and robust. Dim3printing is taking this product so seriously and we have been trying to address any potential engineering flaws.” Most of the early stage 3D printing technology companies, including Dim3printing’s competitors, paid much less attention to engineering as they rush to launch the products in the market or to run a Kickstarter campaign. “We value our customers’ experiences more than launching an innovative product,” said Mr. Hu when being asked about availability and crowdfunding, ”only after we get our prototypes out for stressed field testing to meet our end-users’ expectations, we will consider crowdfunding campaigns and will get the products to our customers’ hands shortly.”

Dim3W Smart 3D Printing Pen excited 4 year old kids at SXSW Create 2014

Everybody could be a wire arts artist:

Austin, TX – March 08, 2014 – Dim3printing today showed off the Dim3W Smart 3D printing pen at the SXSW Create. Dim3printing’s 3D printing pen attracted people from 4 years old to 60+ years old to stop by the booth and play. Sketching and painting using the provided templates, most players happily walked away from the booth with their self-made souvenir.  

 “This is a fabulous toy for my daughter to play”, said Mrs. Russel, whose 6 year old daughter stopped by the booth and “printed” a flower,” this is the first time that my daughter made her own souvenir at an exhibition.”


Ms. Laura Kaolyn, a sculptress from Texas, spent five minutes at the booth made a 4 year kid a dinosaur as a gift while seeing the kids doodling at the booth. “To me, it is a revolutionary art tool, I enjoyed playing with it so much,” said Ms. Kaolyn.

“We will ship our sample kits to our retail and distribution partners no later than March 20th, and, the products will be on our retail partners’ shelf very shortly”, commented Mr. Bin Hu, Dim3printing’s founder.

The product not only integrates the same FDM 3D printing technology which today’s leading 3D printers such as makerbot, 3D system, afinia adopted, but also provides a unique play experiences for everyone who has limited knowledge about 3D model, computer software, and material etc. Using the Dim3W Smart, everybody may be able to sketch an ABS or PLA plastic 3D objects in free space. The only limitation of 3D drawing in the free space is your imagination.
